Matthews Fire Alarm - Since 1922

Matthews Fire Alarm was registered as a company in 1922, however did not begin manufacture and installation of thermal fire detection systems until the following year in a factory located at 77 Annie Street, New Farm.

The company began manufacturing fire fighting brassware and portable pumps following the outbreak of World War 2. In the 1970's the company moved to larger premises in Helen Street, Newstead where it remained until it moved to its current location at Eagle Farm.

Today, Matthews Fire Alarm (MFA), is a division of GSA Industries (Aust.) Pty Ltd, a leading private Australian owned and based industrial manufacturing group. MFA has been a leading manufacturer / supplier to the Australian fire industry for over 85 years, specialising in fire plumbing products (hydrant valves, boosters, standpipes, couplings, etc). MFA has a manufacturing plant in Eagle Farm Brisbane, and has full ISO 9001 Quality Assurance.
